“I love what you do, but how do you make money?”
Its a question I hear on a regular basis, and a fair one considering traditional media is struggling. This site is meant to be a place where readers can get honest, straightforward information on issues that matter. We write and communicate in a style that is more focused on explaining often confusing topics, and helping readers see the impact in their lives.
So how do we make money?
Well, 3 ways.
First, direct support from you and readers like you. Direct donations, some in the form of monthly subscriptions, and some in the form of larger donations throughout the year. Second, direct marketing for small businesses. you may see this in the form of ads on the site, articles promoting certain businesses, and social media posts. Our reach is significant along the shoreline, and this new site (formerly BranfordSeven) is working to expand that reach.
And third, consulting. I work with companies on messaging, branding and creating strong business structures. In some cases, its writing, or content marketing. You may or may not see that content on this site, but experience reaching audiences allows us to be very effective in helping clients reach those audiences as well. Additionally, we work with businesses in social media marketing, working to create an authentic, genuine presence for our partners.
As the job of conveying information in an engaging way entails constantly researching issues, understanding new laws, politics, and the business landscape, we can offer a perspective unique to us for our clients and readers, as we have a unique look at what audiences want, what matters to them, and how to reach them.
