I get that the biggest enemy of the modern Democratic Party are moderate Democrats, but what the few are doing is the right thing. Just get government open. Get the vote on the subsidies, and you may get some R support, as they have the same issues in their states.

But the real problem here is no one, literally no one, is doing anything about the cost of healthcare. They are yelling about wanting government to pay the escalating premiums, but no one will do a damn thing about actually bringing costs down. Insurance has their piece, but big pharma is paying billions to venture capitalists to buy up potential medications, adding billions in marketing dollars and then adding billions in additional profits to make back the money in their patent window before generics get it, then buying off the generic manufacturers so they can rake in more cash.

Then no one wants to rein in the lawyers, who have made medical malpractice a joke, costing billions as they clog up the legal system, driving up medical malpractice insurance, forcing small doctors to sell out to the big boys, reducing competition, driving up costs.

And all of this is added to our premiums. And those 30-50% premiums will go up another 30-50% next year, and the year after. It will drive up your insurance costs, you co-pays, your property taxes as town employee and teachers healthcare skyrockets, and no one is doing shit about it.

Stop the nonsense pissing match to actually address the issue: the actual cost of healthcare, medication and the billionaires who are raking in the money in venture capital returns and big pharma jacking up prices to pay those returns.

And enough with the self-righteous nonsense from Dems: this state is overwhelmingly Democratic, and still can’t pass a damn public option in the state. If we actually give a damn about healthcare costs, we need real leaders willing to stand up to both insurance companies and big pharma, and the venture capital guys behind them. Until then, all this yelling is worth nothing.
