A new mural painted in a residential area is raising questions.
The impressive artwork shown was done on the side of a structure on Church Street in Branford. While amazing artwork, it was done in a residential area and a portion of town covered by the Town Center Revitalization Review Board (TCRRB), a town body that overseas the overall look and signage around the town center.
There are no record of the artist or property owner bringing the proposal to the Board or Planning and Zoning.
While the building itself appears to be a commercial structure, it is in a residential area, with new homes directly across the street.
The questions being raised by residents are how this was done without permission, should neighbors and the town have a say with something of this magnitude, and what should happen now?
If this was painted on the front of the home across the street from your home, would you and your neighbors be ok with it? Do you feel the neighbors and town should have a say?
