Below are the full slates for both major political parties for the 20205 municipal election. Incumbent Jamie Cosgrove has announced he is not seeking re-election after 12 years.
Currently, Cosgrove, a Republican, holds the towns top seat and he with his running mate Angie Higgins held the majority on the Board of Selectmen.
However, the Democrats have a slight majority on the Representative Town Meeting.
This is also the first year that the position of town clerk is not on the ballot, the town took steps to make the position appointed, something that made sense considering the amount of training and certifications the position needs.
Jeff Vailette is running for first selectman on the Republican ticket, having recently re-registered after being a lifelong Democrat. He has the endorsement of Cosgrove.
His running mate is Victoria Verderame, the current minority leader on the RTM.
The Democrats are running Josh Brooks, who has served on and off for the last 18 years.
His running mate is Ray Dunbar, who is the incumbent Democrat on the Board of Selectman.
Candidate designated “placeholder” are names that do not intend to serve, and a replacement is expected to be named at a later date. This is common each election year.
