A formal proposal has been made to the towns Inland Wetlands commission for a major new development on the former Regal Cinemas location. The plan will keep the theater in-tact and use it for a storage facility as part of a larger mixed use plan.

The application describes the proposal as follows:

“Proposed site improvements include converting the existing 46,557 S.F. former movietheater to a self-storage facility with no change to the overall footprint of the building. Other site improvements include the construction of a new 2,520 S.F. restaurant, a new2,470 S.F. restaurant with drive-thru, a new four-story 65-unit residential building, and anew four-story 56-unit residential building. Other associated improvements include paved parking areas, landscaped areas, pedestrian sidewalks, site utilities and lighting, and stormwater management system modifications.”

The plan is currently in Inland Wetlands and is expected to be heard by Planning and Zoning in the next few months.
